Elm Creek on the 5010

Watch on YouTube

Elm Creek mountain biking.  I was asked how the Santa Cruz 5010 rode at Elm Creek so I decided to make a video.  The new bike does a great job on this XC mountain bike trail.  Elm Creek is more know for its flow sections and skinnies than technical riding so the real question is would the bike be able to keep its speed in the flat sprinting sections.

The bike has had some updates since the first ride video.  I now have Nobl TR38 rims with Industry Nine Torch hubs. This wheelset is super stable and I love the engagement from the hubs.  Riding through the rock garden was so much easier on the new bike.

I’ve also put my Santa Cruz carbon bar, Deity grips and Deity pedals.  The carbon handlebar absorbs the feedback from the bike so the bike doesn’t feel uncomfortably stiff.  I’m a fan of Deity Bladerunner pedals.  They take some time to get broken in but they will attach to your shoes like no other flat pedals I’ve used.  The Deity grips are something new for me.  So far they have done a good job.
