Best Mountain Bike Upgrades

Over the past four years I've made a ton of changes to my mountain bike.  I've swapped out every single component on this bike except the cranks.

My first large upgrade was to convert my bike to a 1x with a RaceFace narrow wide chainring.  It was pretty simple and removing the front derailleur dropped over a pound from my bike.

The most expensive change I've made is upgrading my suspension to a Fox Float fork and Fox DPS.  These were big improvements over what I originally had on the bike and made the bike feel more planted.

Installing a Fox Transfer dropper post was probably the best upgrade.  This made me feel so much more confident at speed and going down steep and technical terrain.

Going to wider bars and a shorter stem was another improvement to how I controlled the bike.  This made the bike feel more lively and added more comfort to my ride.

The most common upgrade suggestion is the wheels.  This allowed me to drop a little more weight off the bike.  That was a nice upgrade that allowed me to run wider tires and get better traction on the trails.
